Understanding Protection Presets
Protection presets determine how aggressively RefundShield responds to the store (Apple or Google) when a refund is requested. You can set a different preset for each app.
Available Presets
Maximum Protection
Maximum revenue protection. RefundShield blocks all eligible refund requests, helping prevent abuse and keep your earnings secure.
Medium Protection
Smart and balanced protection. RefundShield filters out abusive refund requests while still allowing flexibility for genuine customers in selected cases. In some repeated disputes, it may offer a partial refund to help resolve the issue quickly.
Minimum Protection
Customer-friendly protection. RefundShield focuses on user satisfaction, blocking only the clearest abuse cases while allowing a more flexible refund experience.
How to Change a Preset
- Go to Apps and select your app
- Click Edit
- Change the Protection Preset
- Click Save
The change takes effect immediately for all new eligible refund requests. It does not retroactively affect already-processed events.
Which Preset Should I Choose?
If you're unsure, start with Maximum. You can always dial it down later. Most RefundShield users see the best results with Maximum protection, which blocks 65-75% of unjustified refunds on average.*
